    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Fantastic Redware Miniature Souvenir Canteen of the Battle of Gettysburg.


    It is attributed to Henry and Charles Speese of Gettysburg, PA, circa 1885.  


    It celebrates two famous people from the Battle of Gettysburg.  On one side is a picture of Jenny Wade, the only civilian causualty of that battle.  Impressed around her picture is "Killed July 2, 1863, Jennie Wade."  The other side is a picture of John L. Burns who was a 69 year old civilian, but grabbed his gun and went to fight. He was wounded, but survived and became a national hero.  Impressed around his picture is "Gettysburg, July 1, 2, 3, John L. Burns."  Only 1 3/8" wide.


    Excellent Condition.  Modest wear to the paper photos.  Original string hanger.  No damage to the redware.
