Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Spongeware Pitcher.
It is the distinctive work of George E. Glover who worked in Cullman County, Alabama in the 1920's and 1930's (Joey Brackner, Alabama Folk Pottery, pp. 144-45, 230).
This beauty features a Slightly Rounded Middle, Pinched Spout, Strap Handle, and Blue and Gray Sponging on White Glaze. The sponging is large and carefully applied in three rows of alternating colors. Stands 10 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single 1/2" chip at the base. Otherwise as made.
