Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Spongeware Pitcher.
It is the distinctive work of George E. Glover who worked in Cullman County, Alabama in the 1920's and 1930's (Joey Brackner, Alabama Folk Pottery, pp. 144-45, 230).
This beauty features a Semi-Squared Rim, Pinched Spout, Strap Handle, and Blue Cat's Paw Sponging on a Cream Glaze. The sponging is large and in dark cobalt. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single 1/4" chip on the top of the rim. Otherwise as made.
