Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped "Geddes, N.Y."
This crock was made in Geddes (Syracuse area) probably by Charles Hubbell and Dennison Chesebro (1867-87) (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 70).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Triple Leaf Decoration made with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt. Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Water glass staining in the inside bottom, and a couple 1/8" nibbles inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, outer stains, or restoration. A 1" surface drying line on the front rim (closeup), and some roughness on the underside of the front from the manufacture.
