Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wild and wonderful (pun intended!) 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar from West Virginia.

The cobalt is very distinctive of Palatine (Fairmont), West Virginia.

This beauty was made around 1880 and features the Wax Sealer Form, Light Gray Clay, and Three Broad and Wavy Stripes Thickly Applied and Spaced Evenly Down the Front.  The cobalt is about as good as it gets and really stands out on the light gray clay for super contrast.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some surface wear here and there.  I tried and tried, but could not fiind anything else to report!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restortion.

    A stellar example!
