    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware Merchant Jar made for "G. A. McCarthey & Bro., Maysville, KY."


    This merchant jar was made in Greensboro, Pennsylvania by one of the Hamilton Potteries (probably James).


    Circa 1880, this beauty features a Top and Bottom Stripe Framing Two Large Roses at the Top, the Company Advertising in the Middle, and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves at the Bottom.  Cobalt accents at the handle terminals.  Stands 14 1/2". 


    Good Condition.  An 8" hairline from the rim in front of the left handle, 1 1/4" flat chip on the front bottom to the right, and some staining from use.  No rim chips or restoration.
