• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderfully Small 1 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by "F. B. Norton & Co., Worcester, MA." 


    This is the work of Frank Norton and Frederick Hancock who made stoneware in Worcester using this stamp from 1856-1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 52-53).  


    This beauty features a Unusually Small 1 Gallon Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Stylized Floral in Bright Cobalt Blue.  Stands 9" tall. 


    Excellent Condition.  A 3/4" chip on the base, and some light and scattered stains from use.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A 1" vertical surface firing line below the decoration in the making.  


    You rarely see Norton stoneware preserves in this little one gallon size!
