    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher made and stamped by "F. B. Norton & Co., Worcester, Mass."


    This is the mark of Frank Norton and Frederick Hancock who operated the pottery in Worcester from 1858 to 1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 52-53).


    This beauty features a Great Form with Tall Rim and Bulbous Base, Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Swirl Floral Decoration. This is one of Norton's signature decorations and the bright cobalt that you come to expect from the Norton Pottery. On the light clay background the decoration really makes for a great contrast and visual appeal.  Stands Measures 11 3/4" tall.


    Very Good to Excellent Condition.  A faint 1 1/2 hairline confined to the rim toward the back on both sides (closeups).  No chips, or any other hairlines, cracks, stains or restoration.
