Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 7" Jar attributed to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia.
Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Dating to the 1860's, this beauty features the Uncommon Small 7" Size, Tooled Rim and Shoulder, and a Garland of 5 Leaves Around the Middle. Each leaf has 5 or 6 brushstrokes of the strongest cobalt possible. What a robust contrast! Stands 7" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single minor 1/8" nibble on the underside at the edge, and a small 1" narrow stain near the bottom. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
