    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Gaudy Ironstone Platter in the Strawberry Pattern.  


    It was made and stamped by "Elsmore, Forster & Co."  This is the mark of Thomas Elsmore and Thomas Forster who made pottery in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent from 1853 to 1871. 


    This beauty features Green and Cobalt Plants Coming in from the Edges to the Center where They Yield a Multitude of Strawberries.  The cobalt leaves are overlayed with gold.  Cobalt trim and red roses in the corners.  Measures13 1/2" by 10 1/2".  


    Very Good Condition.  Modest short utensil marks, some loss to the green leaves, and a faint 5" surface craze line (closeup).   No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
