Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock whose decortion indicates it was made in Easton, Pennsylvania.
The decoration is found on T. G. Daub and J. M. Harris stoneware from Easton from the 1880's. In fact, Harris may have taken over Daub's pottery (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, 29-30).
This beauty sports Desirable Small 1 Gallon Size, with a Bold "Burst" Decoration. Exceptionally clean clay makes for a stunning contrast with the decoration. Measures 6 3/4" tall and 8 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A chip inside the rim (1/4"), three chips under the left handle (1/8" each) and two chips on the right handle (1/4" each), and two chips at the base (1/8", 1/4"). No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A stone ping above the left handle and a straw void on the front base in the making.
