Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware Birdhouse.
It dates to the early 20th century and is marked "USA" on the bottom. Midwestern maker, but unknown at this time. Speculation runs from Western Stoneware, Monmouth Stoneware, White Hall, and Robinson Ransbottom.
This beauty is molded to resemble a hollow long with a tile roof. Flat matte green finish with raised portions left with less glaze in the brushware fashion. Stands 6 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Minor surface chips at the top of each opening of the hanger at the top. Otherwise as made. Was apparently used, but not for very long.
