Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Early 2 Gallon Ovoid Crock.

It dates around 1790 to 1810 and comes either from Manhattan, New York or Cheesequake, New Jersey.  The decoration is similar to pieces from both places, and this version of the decoration with dots is found on a couple known James Morgan pieces.

This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, Tooled Rim, Open Handles and a Butterfly-Like Decoration on both Sides with Additional Decoration under the Handles.  Stands 12 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some glaze loss inside, a 1/2" chip on the rim, three narrow 1/4" chips on the footer, a few light craze lines near the base, and some light stains.  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  I should look so good at 200 years old!
