    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."


    This is the mark of Edward Norton who ran the Norton Pottery in Bennington from 1881-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).


    This beauty features a Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Freehand Leaf.  The cobalt is shiny and really stands out!  Stands 13 1/2" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the bottom of the spout on the left side, and some staining around the top from use.   No top spout or base ships, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
