• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this cute little 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "E. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."


    This is the mark of Edward Norton who ran the Norton Pottery in Bennington from 1881-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).


    This beauty features a Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Freehand Leaf.  The cobalt is shiny and really stands out from the exceptionally clean glaze.  Measures 7" tall and 8 1/4" wide across the top.


    Excellent Condition.  A 5/8" chips inside the rim. a minor 1/8" nibble on the rim in the back, and a 3/4" chip on the underside at the edge in the back.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  


    Great small size for decorating cupboards, counters, tables, etc.
