    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton, Bennington, VT."


    This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44)


    This beauty sports a clear pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a More Unique Norton Decoration- A Fancy Floral Bouquet that Incorporates Four of Norton's Typical Leaves with Four Stems of Berries.  Stands 15 1/4" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  Five chips on the spout (1/4" to 1/2") and a 1 1/4" chip on the bottom edge.   That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
