    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this pretty 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."


    This is the mark of Edward Norton who ran the Norton Pottery in Bennington from 1881-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).


    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Freehand Stylized Floral Bouquet.  The cobalt is thick, shiny and really wows!  Stands 13 1/2" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Small brown dots where iron ore in the clay melted in the firing, including some in the cobalt.
