Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this striking 1 Gallon Jar easily attributed to D. F. Shenfelder of Reading, Pennsylvania.

Daniel Shenfelder made pottery in Reading from approximately 1860-1900 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 24-26).

This beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim, Impressed Capacity Number, and a Freehand Vining with a Fuchsia Blossom Cascading Across the Middle. The vining has 27 leaves and a blossom with 6 petals. Nicely drawn in the Shenfelder fashion.  To top it off, the cobalt is dark, rich and shiny like we all like it! . Stands 9 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition. A few small spots of light staining. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  An exceptionally clean example.
