    Coming to you from Doc's Crock is this 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "D. Goodale, Hartford." 


    This is the work of Daniel Goodale who ran the pottery in Hartford, Connecticut under this mark from 1825-1830 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 60).


    This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Cobalt Accent at the Base of the Handle.  Stands 11" tall.


    Good Condition.  Two chips on the spout (1/4", 7/8"), and wear and light staining from use for two centuries. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
