Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 3 Gallon Jug made for "T. Cunningham, Druggist and Grocer, Mohawk." (New York).

The decoration makes it very clear that this jug was made by the Whites Pottery in Utica, New York.  This makes sense since the little town of Mohawk is just a few miles SE of Utica.

Dating around 1880, this beauty features Three Impressed Lines of Advertising with Cobalt Wash, and an Elaborate Floral Executed with a Slip Cup.  The floral appears to have a butterfly landed on one side of the stem and an open flower on the other.  Stands 15 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A thin film of old molasses on the inside bottom, and some small spots of light wear on the decoration.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Some faint horizontal firing line near the bottom in the making (closeup).
