Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."


This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg with this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 55-58).


Thus beauty features the Desired 1 Gallon Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Tulip with 6 Leaves and a Blossom with 3 Petals.  The decoration is executed by an expert hand with a brush in gorgeous cobalt.  Stands 9 1/2" tall 


Excellent Condition.  A pinhead-size nibble and 3/8" narrow chip on the right handle in the back, and a 1/4" chip on the base.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.    Exceptionally clean!
