Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock marked "Cortland."
This is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Freehand Garland with Two Tulips and an Underscore across the Front. Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A chip inside (1/2") and four outside the rim (1/4" to 1"). No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some fine bubbles in the cobalt in the making.
