Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Clark and Fox, Athens." 

 

This is the stamp of Nathan Clark who founded the Clark family pottery in Athens N.Y. in 1805 and ran it with his partner, Ethan S. Fox, from 1829-1843 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 66).

 

This beauty features a clear maker's stamp with cobalt wash and a Brushed Cobalt 1831 Date Cradled by a Wreath and Underscored by a Cloud.  A very shiny cobalt and glaze.  Stands Measures 10 3/4" tall.

 

Very Good Condition.  A faint hairline across the base and six chips on the underside at the edge (1/4" to 1").  No rim chips, stains, or restoration.
