Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 2 Gallon Jug made by "Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, Pa."

This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).

Dating to the 1880's, this beauty features the Company Advertising Stenciled Diagonally in Large Letters.  The stenciling is crisp, complete, and in strong cobalt.   Lettering is rarely seen in this large size with some letters a full 1 1/2" tall!   Stands 13 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A couple minor 1/8" nibbles on the spout that may be in the making, and a faint stain run on the right side.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.    A kiln touch below the handle in the making.
