Coming to you from Doc's Crocks it this wonderful 4 Gallon Crock from the Midwest.
Dating around 1880, this beauty features Salt Glaze, a Freehand "4" Capacity Number underscored by Cat's Whiskers, and a Bumblebee made with a Single Pour of a Slip Cup. Very strong and vibrant cobalt. Measures 11 3/4" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Good Condition. A 1/2" chip inside the rim, a small "16" added above the "4" at the rim, two 1/4" chips on the left handle, a small "t" hairline at the bottom of the right side that is a 2" line on the bottom (closeup), and a couple light stains. No outer rim or base chips, stains, or restoration.
