    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.  

    This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9). 

    Circa 1870, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Rim and Shoulder and a Continuous Garland of Graduated Comma Vining Around the Shoulder.  There are 35 Strokes of Cobalt Hanging from a Row of 38 Cobalt Dots!  Gorgeous cobalt too!  Stands 8 3/4" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip on top of the rim, and a narrow 3/4" flake and minor nibbles around the base, mainly on the underside.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
