Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.

This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Rim and Comma Vining Dangling from the Rim.  An extra teardrop of cobalt is applied between each unit.   All the decoration is executed in strong cobalt.  Stands 8 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A couple minor 1/8" nibbles inside the rim.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Slight indentation by one teardrop in the making.
