Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 8 3/4" Decorated Stoneware Jar.
This is the work of Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).
Circa 1870, this beauty features Three Cobalt Leaves around the Middle. Each Leaf had 7-8 brushstrokes of strong cobalt. Stands 8 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single minor narrow 3/8" chip the width of string on the rim. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
