Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug stamped "Ithaca."

This is very likely the work of James Macumber who ran the pottery in Ithaca, N.Y. from 1864 to 1890 with three different partners (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).

Circa 1870, this beauty features the Impression "Ithaca" and a Plant with Four Swirl and Dotted Leaves Topped by Three Dotted Feather-Like Leaves.  Lots of Dots!  Stands 14" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Two 1/4" chips on the left side of the spout, and some faint staining on the back toward the bottom.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Typical manufacturing imperfections.
