Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 9" Jar attributed to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia.
Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim and a Garland of 4 Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulips around the Middle. Each tulip has between 12 and 16 brushstrokes of cobalt. Stands 9" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single minor 1/8" nibble on the rim, and traces of water glass staining inside and some outside from use. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
