Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jug from either SW Pennsylvania or West Virginia.
Datng around 1870, this beauty features an Elaborately Tooled Spout with a Ring of Cobalt around the Base, 6 Stripes Down the Handle, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Leaf on the Front. Stands 9 1/2" tall.
As you know, freehand decorated jugs are tough to find in this size. Typically they only have stripes.
Very Good Condition. An 1/8" nibble inside the spout, a 1/4" chip on the bottom ring of the spout on the right side, and a faint line through the handle near the bottom. No base chips, body hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
