Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar with Freehand Decoration from Greensboro, Pennsylvania. It is very likely a Hamiton and Jones product.
Circa 1865, this beauty features Top to Bottom Freehand Decoration. From the top down are two straight stripes, a row of upward sweeping comma vining, a center stripe, watchkey "2" capacity number flanked by two dashes, and two more straight stripes at the bottom. Stands 11 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Minor surface wear. That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some thicker salt glaze in spots in the making.
