Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Highly Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock Lid attributed to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia.

Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

Dating about 1860, this beauty features Four Fancy Tulips Surrounding the Edge.  More cobalt than you typically see on a cake crock lid.  Measures 7 3/4" in diameter and fits in a crock with an opening at least 6".

Good Condition.  Chips around the knob, a 1/2" shallow chip on the edge, and chips around the seating ring on the underside as show.   No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
