Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Lidded Cake Crock from Baltimore, Maryland.
Circa 1860, this beauty features Comma Vining with a Center Dangling Tulip on Each Side, and Cobalt Accents on the Handle Terminals. The matching lid has a circle of cobalt around the base of the knob and subdued comma vining all around the edge. The base measures 5" tall and 9 1/2" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. The base has a 3/8" flake inside the rim and eight chips outside the rim (1/4" to 1/2"). No handle or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has a 3/4" chip on the knob, a 2" chip on the top at the edge, and a 3/8" flake on the seating ring on the underside. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
