Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 2 Gallon Jar made in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The decoration is typical of pottery made at the Boughner Pottery in Greensboro from the 1850's into the 1860's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 151-155).

Dating about 1860, this jar features an Undulating Vine Across the Front with Two Tulips Springing Forth from It!  The decoration fills the front of the jar with the powerful cobalt blue that we all appreciate!  Stands 12 1/2" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A faint 4" vertical line on the left side below the incised band and above the base that goes nowhere (closeup).  That's it!  No chips, stains, or restoration.
