Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "J. Weaver."

This is the work of John Weaver who made stoneware in Beaver, Pennsylvania from the late 1840's to about 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 113).

Dating around 1860, this beauty has a Jar form with Tall and Wide Tooled Rim, Pottery Stamp, and a Garland of Vining and Two Tulips Across the Front.  All the brushed cobalt decoration was down by a skilled hand in generous strokes of dark cobalt.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Two chips on the rim in the back (1/4", 5/8"), and a narrow 1/2" chip at the base.  That's it!  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Very clean example.
