Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Semi-Ovoid Stoneware 1 Gallon Decorated Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.
Dating around 1850, this beauty features a carefully tooled rim, petite handles, and an garland of comma vining with a center dangling tulip on each side. Additional cobalt accents at the handles. Stands 11 1/2" tall.
Excellent condition. A 1/2" chip on the underside near the edge, and some light staining from use. That's it! No rim or handle chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A dime-sized clay flip in the making in which the clay adhered to the other side (closeup).
