    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this early Decorated Ovoid Jar.

     

    Dating around 1840 and attributed to Philadelphia, this beauty features the Ovoid Form, Tooled Rim, and a Squiggle Stripe that Goes all the Way Around to Create Two Spaces to Draw a Small Plant with Two Branches on Each Side.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" chip inside and outside the rim, and a faint 1" hairline confined to the rim (closeup).  No base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
