Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this early 3 Gallon Ovoid Jar made in Baltimore, Maryland.
Circa 1840, this beauty features an Ovoid Shape, Carefully Tooled Rim for Ease of Tying a Cover Over, Hooded Handles, and a Garland of 5 Flowers Around the Middle. The decoration is applied liberally in dark cobalt by a skilled handle. Slightly oval and slightly convex on the bottom in the making. Stands 14 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 3/4" chip inside the rim and a narrow 1 1/2" sliver chip along the bottom edge. That's it! No outer rim or handle chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A really survivor!
