• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug. 


    The decoration indicates that it was made by Jacob Eaton of South River, New Jersey.  Eaton operated a pottery in South River from 1831 to 1856 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 79).  


    Dating around 1835, this beauty features an Ovoid Form with a Drape and Tassel Decoration typical of Eaton stoneware.  Additional cobalt at the upper handle terminal.  Stands 11" tall. 


    Excellent Condition.  An 1/8" nibble on the left side of the spout, and three small chips at the base (1/8" to 3/*").  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
