    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Ovoid Jar made and Stamped by "Chollar, Darby, & Co., Cortland."


    This is the stamp of Thomas Chollar and Joseph Darby who ran the pottery in Cortland from 1839-1849 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).


    This beauty sports the Early Ovoid Form with Pottery Stamp Washed in Blue and Bold Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 12 1/2 " tall.


    Very Good Condition.  Wear and small chips on the seating ring inside where a lid would sit, a flat 1/2" chip on top and on the side of the rim, and a 1/4" chip on the base.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
