• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this grand 4 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "C. W. Braun, Buffalo, N.Y."


    This is the mark of Charles W. Braun who ran the old Heiser pottery in Buffalo from 1857-1896 ( William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 75).


    Dating around 1870, this beauty features a Strong Potter's Stamp and a Large Folk Art Tulip executed with a Slip Cup and Brush. The tulip has 2 leaves with striped accents executed with a slip cup and a blossom with 7 petals executed with a brush. Measures 11 1/2" tall and wide across the top.


    Excellent Condition. Two shallow 3/4" chips on the rim in the back, a surface-only 3 1/2" craze line below the left handle (closeup), and 3/8" chip on the base. That's it! No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
