Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "C. Boynton & Co., Troy."

This is the work of Calvin Boynton who ran a pottery in Troy from 1829-1835 (See William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 66).

This beauty features an Unusual Jar Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Two Vertical Leaves in Brilliant Cobalt.  I suspect a paper label from a merchant was applied between the leaves allowing the jar to work for many different merchants.

Excellent Condition.  Two small nibbles (1/8", 3/16"), a 2" surface-only craze line on the side (closeup), two adjacent chips on the underside near the edge (1/4", 1"), and some very light staining from use.   That's it!  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.

    Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE
