    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Burger & Co., Rochester, N.Y."


    This is the mark of John Burger, Jr. who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1877-1879 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).


    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number, and a Huge Tulip that Fills the Entire Front.  The tulip is executed with a slip cup and is composed of 5 striped leaves and a blossom with 3 striped petals.  A visual delight.  Measures 11" tall and 12" wide across the top.


    Very Good Condition.  Traces of water-glass staining side and light stain runs from the rim, a 3/4" chip on the right handle, and a 1/2" chip at the base.  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
