• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Burger & Lang, Rochester, N.Y."

This is the mark of John Burger, Jr., George Burger, and their brother-in-law, George Lang who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1867-1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).

This beauty sports the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a signature decoration for this maker: A Fancy Cobalt Tulip Executed with a Slip Cup. The decorators at Burger were some of the best and this tulip shows considerable skill in shading and accenting of the decoration.  Measures 10" tall and 10 3/4" wide across the top.

Good Condition.  Some water glass staining inside and some outside, two chips above the right handle (1/4", 5/8"), and an in-body hairline behind the right handle that does not reach top or bottom (closeup).  No base chips or restoration.

Priced inexpensively.  Ship double-boxed, insured, and FREE
