• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon Blue and White Spongeware Child's Sugar Bowl stamped "Burford Bros."


    This is the stamp of the Burford Brothers of East Liverpool, Ohio who made some of the best spongeware of their day.


    Dating to the late 19th century, this piece has a Classic Form with Narrowed Top, Graceful Handles, and a Lid with Fancy Finial.  Rich Cobalt Sponging on a White Palette.  Stands 4 1/4" tall to the top of the finial.


    Good Condition.  The handle on one side has been broken at the top and bottom and reglued.  Otherwise as made.  The lid has a single 1/8" nibble on the seating rim on the underside.  Otherwise as made.
