Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by the "Brown Brothers, Huntington, L.I."

This is the work of George, Stephen, and Thomas Brown who worked together in pottery in Long Island from 1863 to 1905 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 64).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Freehand Cobalt Tulips Artistically Centered on the Front and Underscored by Two Leaves.  Wonderful squatty form suitable for transport in a buggy because it will not tip over. Stands 9" tall .

Excellent Condition.  A narrow 1/4" chip on the left side of the spout.  That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A small kiln touch on the left side, stone ping on the front bottom, and slight lean to the spout-- all in the making.  Extremely clean glaze.
