Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by the Brown Brothers of Huntington, Long Island, N.Y.
George, Stephen, and Thomas Brown worked together in pottery in Long Island from 1863 to 1905 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 64).
This beauty features the pottery stamp and Four Tulips Up the Front Executed in Bright Cobalt Blue. Measures 12 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip on the front of the spout, a narrow 1" chip on the underside near the edge, and some staining from use. No hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A stone ping to the left of the decoration in the making.
