Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by the "Brown Brothers, Huntington, L.I."
This is the work of George, Stephen, and Thomas Brown who worked together in their family pottery in Long Island from 1863 to 1905 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 64).
This beauty features a Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Floral Stem with Six Tulips! Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Some small and narrow spots of glaze loss inside on the high spots. That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Three 1/2" surface-only firing lines on the rim in the making (see the closeup of the most prominent one).
