Coming to you from Doc's Crocis is this wonderful Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher in the Wild Rose Pattern.
Dating about 1900, this beauty features Blue and White Sponging at the Top and Bottom Borders with a Double Wild Rose in the Middle on Each Side. The spongeware borders are set off by a row of raised dots and feature alternating raised semi-circles and diamonds. The raised dots also accent the sides of the handle. The raised rose in the middle is accented in solid cobalt blue. Stands 9" tall.
As you know, this is a crossover piece with interest to the spongeware collector and the blue and white collector.
Very Good Condition. A tight horizontal line through the center of the handle, and two narow chips at the base (3/8". 5/8"). No rim chips, body hairlines or cracks, stains, or restoration.
